John Kennedy -

  • What is a fun fact about you?
    • At one point (not now, though), I could name all 100 U.S. Senators! That may be a weird fact, IDK!
  • What has brought you joy most recently?
    • On November 7th, I was honored to be re-elected to the Pasco School Board. It’s a privilege to serve the community members of the 2nd Director District (East and Central Pasco)!
  • What is one of your hobbies (outside of working out)?
    • I enjoy going on long walks and I enjoy hiking on Badger Mt.
  • Why do you continue to be a member at Movement Athletics?
    • Until I joined Movement Athletics, I had a love-hate relationship with fitness. I would join a gym and create a workout routine and end up quitting after a while. I would always use the same machines and it seemed like it would take longer and longer to finish a workout. I would eventually become bored and tell myself that I don't have enough time to workout or I just don't feel like doing the same exercises over and over again. I had a gym membership that enabled me to workout at any time, but I ended up rarely using it.
    • My wonderful spouse, Ana, suggested that we try out Movement Athletics. I wasn't sure about group classes. I thought "they aren't for me" but agreed to work one on one with Coach Pedro for 2 months. Ana and I really enjoyed Pedro's coaching style and instruction, and I wanted to give the group classes a try. I immediately realized that the group classes at Movement Athletics were exactly what I was looking for.
    • I have been a member since February 2022 (Ana and I are approaching our Movement Athletics 2 year anniversary!).. There’s definitely been some ups and downs with my progress but I have absolutely seen significant progress towards my fitness goals since becoming a member. Without a doubt it’s our fitness family that makes working out at Movement Athletics the most enjoyable part of the experience. Everyone is committed to supporting and urging each other to do their very best. Everyone wants each other to have the best experience possible and reach their fitness goals. It really feels like a fit family and community! I am grateful to Movement Athletics and our fit fam for changing how I think about nutrition, exercise, and wellness.
  • What goal did you have for yourself in 2023? What goal do you have for 2024?
    • My main fitness goal in 2023 was to reach 195 lbs in weight and about 15% in body fat percentage. I reached and exceeded my weight goal and I’m getting close to the body fat percentage goal.
    • My fitness goal for 2024 is to build on the gains of 2023 and also continue to improve my nutrition, continue to focus on strength, increase stamina & mobility, and practice coordination.
