Our members are the heart of our community!

Meet Adriana Chavez, one of Movement Athletics members! She’s been with us for the last several years, most recently she rejoined our community by participating in the Winter Fitness Challenge.

What is a fun fact about you?

I won a talent show dancing like Shakira When i was in high school and still have the trophy to prove it!

What has brought you joy most recently?

Honestly my boys bring me so much joy!! I feel Like I'm enjoying being a mom the second time around so much more since I don't have postpartum depression this time around. Seeing the way Kai looks at his big brother makes my heart want to burst with so much love and joy.

What is one of your hobbies?(outside of working out)

Hobbies when you have kids?! Pretty sure being a chauffeur to take them to all their playdates, extracurriculars and appointments is my hobby. Honestly when I actually get down time I read Romance Mysteries, this is usually when Kai goes down to sleep and before Mateo comes down to sleep I enjoy my 30 minutes of quiet time reading.

Why do you continue to be a member at Movement Athletics?

I’ve been a member off and on with Movement Athletics for a few years now. I may not be consistent but I love that anytime I come back I’m welcomed with open arms. I've Paid all sorts of memberships but never stuck with them, the community, the encouragement, the comradery that takes place in those sessions makes you feel safe, at home and it helps hold you accountable. You build valuable friendships in those walls and the way those make you feel makes you want to come back. Pedro has done a great job building a community.

What goal do you have for yourself in 2024?

My goal this year is to be able to lift baby Kai without any trouble, he's a big healthy baby. I want to be able to do 5K’s with Mateo, my oldest, without being exhausted and sore afterwards. I want overall strength, health and energy!! I want to be better so I can be better for my boys.
